CHAN, Wai Sum Kardia

 

Kardia Chan is a final-year undergraduate student at the Division of Speech and Hearing Sciences, The University of Hong Kong. Her dissertation project focuses on high functioning autism spectrum disorder children’s theory of mind, executive functions, language comprehension. and reading comprehension. Since she is interested in visual art, she would like to develop pictures and materials for assessment and treatment of children with various needs.

CHAN, Yuk Ying Yoyo

 

Yoyo Chan is a final-year undergraduate student majoring in speech and hearing sciences, minoring in Psychology at The University of Hong Kong. She is a student ambassador in The University of Hong Kong and is currently working as a speech therapy assistant in SAHK B M Kotewall Memorial School. During summer 2016, she went to Zhongnan Hospital of Wuhan University and Hubei Disabled Persons’ Federation for her clinical placement, serving children with autism, cerebral palsy, and global delay. Her research interests include language acquisition and music therapy for children.

FONG, Tsz Ho Marco

 

Marco Fong is a final-year undergraduate student at the Division of Speech and Hearing Sciences, The University of Hong Kong. He is interested in entering the clinical field of speech therapy in Hong Kong after graduation. He is currently working on a final year dissertation project on statistical learning and Chinese developmental dyslexia, under the supervision of Dr Shelley Xiuli Tong, aiming to investigate the importance of statistical learning in Chinese orthographic learning so as to provide a comprehensive understanding of Chinese orthographic learning, as well as suggesting a plausible direction of learning program for children learning Chinese characters in an effective and efficient way. He also has a wide range of extra-curricular interests, including music, sports, and visual art.

KAN, Ki Fung Alvis

Alvis Kan is a final-year undergraduate student majoring in Speech and Hearing Sciences at The University of Hong Kong. His dissertation project focuses on prosodic reading development and reading comprehension in Chinese and English among Cantonese-English bilingual children.
